Pinky

Lucy (my BFF!) and I were on an early morning walk, to get some fresh air.
It was on a Saturday morning ( which I know a lot of you like to sleep in) but I have proof
that early bird gets the worm, in other words if you sleep in you don't make as many discoveries or have nearly as much fun!
I was roller blading, I am a beginner, and she was walking.
I saw a little moth on the side walk.
I figured it would just fly away if I got close to it but it didn't!
I nearly ran over it but managed to stretch my legs apart (with out falling!)
and get back smoothly on the sidewalk. When we were walking back I saw the moth again.
"Why didn't it fly away?" I thought.
I called Lucy and showed her the moth.
"I think this moth's wing is broken!" I said.
"Yeah I think it is, too!" said Lucy.
"It must be deformed we learned about that in school a couple of years ago" I said.
I put my hand on the ground and let him crawl on it (he actually trusted me!) and we went back to our houses.
It was hard to bring him all the way without falling!
But that's what friends are for, Lucy helped me a lot getting home with out mushing him.
We looked up on the internet to see what type of moth he was.
Unfortunately, we couldn't find out, so of course we didn't know what to feed him.
"They eat clothes!" my dad said smiling.
"Great idea!" we said.
We went to Lucy's house (we are neighbor's)
and we got some clothes that she was going to give away because they were
to small for her, and we got a shoe box and put the clothes in it.
It was raining earlier in the morning and the grass had water on it.
"Perfect!" I said, "now the moth has water".
We gave him some leafs (I smelled it first, because if they have a strong smell you shouldn't feed it to animals) and put them in the shoe box.
He was doing great!
"I hope the moth is a girl!" said Lucy.
I agreed with her but I have a feeling the moth is a boy.
"What should we name him?" I asked.
"her" She corrected me.
"okay then. Let me try aging: What should we name HER?" I asked smiling.
"How about..."
"Pinky"
"Nah, Lucy, I think that is just, well, it doesn't fit." I said
I thought of some more names that actually made sense, but none of them seemed to catch on.
I showed Pinky to my family and we took care of him for a while.
But then....
well....
Lucy...
she said he was dying anyways so she....
sort of....
smashed him!
I know, I know.
How can a person be so cruel?
Well, now Pinky is dead.
Pet's come and go.
So let me give you some advice:
If you friend is dying in the hospital don't throw her/him on the floor and squish her/him!
I'm not over it yet but I will be soon. :(
I hope you learned a lesson!!!~zoe~

P.S. I will be posting pictures of Lucy and I and Pinky when he was ALIVE! Lucy if you are reading this I just want you to know I am mad at you! >:(
